Rebranding a World Leader in Complex Maritime Operations

Repositioning three decades of maritime expertise, world-leading innovation and one of the world’s most advanced offshore fleets for a new era of global leadership.

Founded in 1996 by visionary seafarer and entrepreneur Stig Remøy, Olympic has grown from its maritime roots on Norway's northwest coast into a global maritime operator trusted to deliver some of the world’s most demanding offshore operations.

From an original fleet of two offshore vessels and one fishing trawler, Olympic today operates 12 modern subsea and multipurpose vessels, with two new construction vessels underway. Today, the company holds a strong position within subsea operations and renewable energy, with significant activities across the wider maritime sector.

As Olympic entered its 30th anniversary year, the company also delivered its strongest half-year result ever, with revenues exceeding NOK 1.1 billion and EBITDA of NOK 778 million.

KIND worked closely with Olympic’s leadership to build on what has made the company successful for three decades—its pioneering spirit, people, expertise, technology and culture. Together, we defined a clearer direction and brand position, renewed the business vision and established a clearly defined set of values for the future.

For Caroline Hjellegjerde, Chief HR & Administration Officer at Olympic, the process has been as much about defining the company’s future as developing its brand.

“For nearly two years, we worked closely with KIND in a process defined by exceptional expertise, trust and a genuine commitment to understanding who we are. Together, we brought forward what truly defines Olympic—our people, expertise, the complexity of our operations and the unique culture built over more than three decades.

The result goes far beyond a new brand. We have a renewed business vision, a clearly defined set of values and a strategic compass that defines who we are, what we stand for and where we are going. It brings our people, technology and experience together around one clear direction for the future. We are incredibly proud of what we have created together.”

At the heart of the new position was a simple truth: Olympic is at its best when operations are at their most complex. Exceptional people and deep competence, combined with one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable offshore fleets, enable it to deliver demanding maritime operations.

Sustainability is integral to Olympic’s direction for the future, with a stated ambition to reach net zero by 2050. Together, we defined a clearer position around these existing strengths: a leading force in complex maritime operations.

From this strategic foundation, KIND developed a unified brand platform, identity, communication strategy and behavioural framework—bringing Olympic’s history, culture and ambitions together in one coherent concept.

"Conquering Currents" became the overarching brand concept, built on a fundamental truth: Change is the law of life. Everything is in constant motion. The dual meaning of Currents captures Olympic’s ability to master both the forces of nature and the currents of change—across technology, energy and markets.

The concept extends through "Navigating with…", a flexible communication platform connecting innovation, sustainability, people and operational excellence. Internally, "We Are Olympians" translates the same thinking into culture, values and behaviour.

These elements provide a compass for the organisation and a clear focus for Olympic’s future—setting a clearer course forward. As Olympic enters its next chapter, the company does so from a position of strength—with a modern fleet, record results and a clear ambition to continue developing its expertise within increasingly complex maritime operations.

For Stig Remøy, Founder & CEO of Olympic, the new brand is firmly rooted in the company’s pioneering history—while giving it a clear expression for the future.

“What I particularly value is how KIND has taken care of Olympic’s history and pioneering spirit while bringing it into the future. It feels firmly anchored in who we are—our people, our technology, our commitment to sustainability and our ability to master complex maritime operations. At the same time, it has been modernised and strengthened into one coherent concept that I believe will define Olympic for the years ahead.”
