One of Europe’s most innovative companies chooses KIND
As one of the three finalists in the 2019 European Inventor Awards, Oslo-based Stingray Marine Solutions has already proven the value of its innovative aquaculture technology. Now Stingray has chosen KIND as its brand partner as it seeks to communicate the unique benefits of its high precision laser technology to the international aquaculture industry.
Stingray develops intelligent aquaculture technology that combines stereo machine vision, advanced software and high-precision laser to target and eliminate parasites that infect farmed fish. The company’s goal is to help global fish farmers to increase production and improve harvesting while ensuring that they remain focused on fish welfare.
Stingray has already received global recognition for its innovative technology, and as one of the three finalists in European Inventor Awards last year, the company has recently been in the international spotlight with media coverage from the Daily Planet among others.
“We’ve followed KIND for several years and have seen how they are capable of delivering excellence in branding every time across many sectors. Laser focus on fish welfare
With its intelligent weapon system for the elimination of sea lice, Stingray is a world class provider of technology to the fish farming industry. Its patented solution not only provides an enhanced image-based overview of parasite infection, but also allows for the optical delousing of salmon and trout using a laser to deliver a reduction in sea lice of over 50%.
In addition, the Stingray system records and reports a range of welfare indicators for farmed fish thereby providing an additional and important decision-making support tool for fish farmers. Furthermore with Stingray’s biometrics application, fish farmers can also monitor growth in each pen in real time via Stingray’s online portal.
“Stingray’s laser-focused technology provides a new benchmark in aquaculture management and fish welfare. It demonstrates the kind of innovative thinking that has always excited us. We’re now delighted to be working with the Stingray team to help them realise the full potential of this technology as a driver of greater sustainability in the aquaculture industry.”
