Von Doren and Kind collaboration

One to watch

It's Time for a New Era. Kind is delighted to be collaborating with an exciting player in world-class timepieces - Von Doren. Not only will Kind be responsible for the overall branding of this unique Norwegian wristwatch company, we are also collaborating on the future design of the watches themselves.

Norway Chess
The first timepiece to be designed by Kind, under the close guidance of company founder and CEO Øyvind VonDoren Asbjørnsen, is an extremely special watch indeed. The ultra-limited edition (25 pieces worldwide) Caissa Automatic, was created to mark Von Doren's sponsorship of Norway Chess - billed as 'the world's strongest chess tournament'. This year's tournament featured a wealth of top international chess talent, including the Norwegian international icon Magnus Carlsen.

Each timepiece has a circular-brushed brass dial with its own unique pattern and patina. No two finishes are alike, lending an extra air of exclusivity to this already highly limited-edition wristwatch.

'The best designers in the world'

Øyvind said: 'When I created and founded my lifelong passion-project - Von Doren Fine Timepieces - I had a clear idea of how the brand identity should be. But I soon realised that I needed help from some of the best designers in the world to fully achieve this vision. Our watches reflect the very best of Scandinavian quality and standards, and we needed top-notch designers to help us fulfil that brand promise. Fortunately, I got to know Kind through a fellow entrepreneur, and for this I have always been grateful. Kind have transformed our ideas into reality and have made a consistent profile that both matches and reflects the unique DNA of Von Doren.'

'Great pride'

CEO, Creative Director and Founder of Kind, Tom Emil Olsen, said from the company's global headquarters in Bergen, Norway: 'We are delighted to be working with the Von Doren brand, with their impressive range of wristwatches. The company takes great pride in its Norwegian heritage, while also combining these influences in top-quality Swiss movements. Fine watchmaking has many parallels with great branding and design: no detail can be considered as being too small. Knowledge, expertise and patience combine to create something truly special. This is just one reason why we believe our collaboration with Von Doren moving forward will reap some extraordinary-yet-timeless results.'

Von Doren has its roots in the renowned art-nouveau city of Ålesund. Its watches are inspired by both the architecture of the city as well as the magnificent natural surrounding landscape. With premium Swiss Movements and genuine leather straps sourced from Italy, Von Doren watches possess a timeless elegance, stylish simplicity and undeniable quality.
